A war gaming blog, covering Malifaux and 40k, and just slightly obsessing on models with fur hats

Alternate Models
Meet my new "Counts as Coteaz". I've since dunked her in the Simple Green, and I'm going to green stuff more tech bitz on her (Bionic eye, power armor greaves). I'm also looking at getting the reaper Familiar pack with a hawk in it to have it alight on her hand, along with adding a RT era power pack to her back. This is in keeping with my new "No more GW purchases" mentality.
I'm also re-purposing the rest of the sisters as Death Cult Assassins. I'm thinking I might change their hammers for blades, so as to make them more "Initiative 6" looking.

It's almost like they planned it
Privateer Press is having a sale for their tenth anniversary.
Way to capitalize on Games Workshop's flaws and gain some market share, PP.
100th post
And it's a less than pleasant one.
If you are on the internet at all, you're well aware of the gigantic shit-storm GW has caused by cutting off the Pacific Rim, moving to cheaper materials and raising prices, changing their marketing strategy to announcing new products one week before their release date, and rendering puppies and kittens down into a fine powder to snort.
And what does this have to do with me? I'm just getting done with my semester, and I was looking forward to spending the summer working and gaming. Games Workshop was going to get some of my hard earned dollars on a new Daemonhunters/Grey Knights army. And now, after all of the above? I'm done.
Will I still play the game? Yes.
Will I buy GW models? Yes and no. There are many other model companies that I can purchase from to get my GW fix, and they don't abuse their customers. I'll purchase from them, and fee-bay is always there to hook me up for things that aren't alternate models.
If they come around, and stop being evil, I might reconsider, but damn, it'll take a lot.

The 40k Championship List
Here's what I'm bringing:
2 x Librarians with Shield of Sanginious, Blood Lance
2 x Sanguinary Priests, CCW, Bolt Pistol, Jump Pack
3x Regular Assault Squad, Melta Gun x 2, Power Fist
1 Regular Assault Squad, Flamer x 2, Power Fist
1 Vanguard Veteran Squad Sgt with Lighting Claw/Storm Shield, 2x LC/SS, and 2 ccw/BP (One with Melta bomb)
1 Vanguard Vet: Sgt w/ LC/SS, 3 Power Weapon/BP (one with Melta bomb), 1 with Powerfist
The Priests and libbys each join one of the melta squads, and the vanguards choose an appropriate target when they drop. The priests and the VGV hopefully drop in similar locations so the VGV can use the priest's Furious Charge on their heroic intervention.
It's a risky list, but also a fun one as well.

It's the Monday before Adepticon
And there's still so much to do.
I have to finish the Flesh Tearers, of course, and I need to finish the display.
I'll get it done, but it'll be tight. Yay for procrastination.

Okay, I lolled.
I'm still unsure about the Grey Knight baby bjorn known as the Dreadknight, but this amused me so much, I to share. Credit for the pic goes to juraigamer on Dakka.
